Born and raised in New York, Brian became a professional photographer by a less traditional route than most. After catching the eye of the legendary photographer Herb Ritts while performing as a pro skater, and a subsequent invitation to appear in a Gap campaign, Herb became his mentor and friend.

Four years as Herb’s assistant helped Brian to find his personal photographic style, and assignments for Vouge, W, Maria Claire, Esquire and Interview soon followed. Brian has been working steadily ever since.

Brian has also finished his first book, coming out mid December called The Men and Women of Marc Jacobs . This book is the culmination of a multi-year project that features photographs of the Marc Jacobs family. This book is self published by Marc Jacobs and will only be available in Marc Jacobs stores or on their website
